Well here it is, time for scans again. We are in Kansas City tonight and then we fly out to Boston tomorrow morning. We are taking Aiden with us this time and Brent’s parents are coming along too. We are are glad they could come along to be here with us.
We have scans on Wednesday at 11:00 and then we will meet with the team (neurosurgeon, oncologist, neurologist and psychiatrist) in the afternoon Wednesday. We are of course sick to our stomachs and nervous for the scans. We are praying for positive results and that the doctors feel that the side effects (too much protein in her urine) aren’t too much so we can continue with this treatment. We are always eager/ scared to death to hear what the team thinks. Emma continues to tolerate this chemo well and feel pretty good. She also has been making good progress in therapy so it would just break my heart to have to switch again.
These weeks are always such an emotional roller coaster. I don’t suppose this one will be any different. Her scans are being done one year to the day that she had surgery at Boston Children’s last year. There are so many emotions each time we do scans.
Emma had chemo today in Omaha and did pretty well other than the protein In her urine was back up. Thank you to our wonderful nurses and doctors in Omaha who got her chemo done a day early this week and helped to get her paperwork ready so we could go.
We are so blessed to have so many people who follow Emma’s story and lift us up in prayer. To all of our prayer warriors we would sure take a few extra prayers for good results this week. Thank you to everyone for all of your continued support. Emma Strong!!
